Tips

Faro Marina is located at the top of the South Male Atoll four nautical miles south-west of Male at 4°07’19.75’’N 73°27’51.49’’E. When approaching from the north follow the channel between Vaadho island and Emboodhoo Lagoon leaving Vaadho on your starboard side. Once you have passed Vaadho island you will see the marina entrance on your port side. Entry to the marina is marked by port and starboard lateral marks. We recommend arriving between 0900 and 1700.

Docking instructions

On approach please hail the dock team on VHF Channel 68 and let them know if you would prefer to moor bow or stern-to. The dock team will then provide you with mooring instructions. Once in visual range please follow the hand signals and mooring guidance provided by the dock team. Please prepare your fenders and mooring lines in good time.

Rules

Maneuvering, Berthing & Safety - the maximum speed limit is 3 knots, vessels must be moored with sufficient lines and fenders, mooring lines, and other equipment, including tenders, should not be left on the dock and open flames, BBQs, and fireworks are not permitted. Environmental - oil, fuel, hazardous material disposal, and sewage discharge are not permitted, garbage must be disposed of in the garbage containers provided and biodegradable cleaning materials must be used for cleaning. General Etiquette - loud noise, inappropriate behaviour, and drone flying are not permitted.
